About The Position

Melt Technician is responsible for maintaining the equipment used in metal melting operations, ensuring it functions correctly and safely. This is a temp-to-full-time position.

Requirements

Experience in a manufacturing setting.
Comfortable in a high heat environment.
Adherence to safety protocols and regulations when working with molten metal and equipment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be willing to submit to a national background check.

Responsibilities

Maintaining the equipment used in metal melting operations.
Ensuring equipment functions correctly and safely.
Operating and maintaining equipment.
Performing routine and project-based maintenance.
Rebuilding refractory in holders, launder systems and other assigned tasks.
Identifying and resolving issues with melting equipment to minimize downtime.
Collecting samples, performing tests (e.g., using a spectrometer), and documenting results to ensure the metal meets quality standards.
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and quality control results.
Loading and unloading metal and potentially using equipment like forklifts and cranes.
Maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
