Requirements

  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills for interacting with clients, staff, and external partners.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to last-minute changes or emergencies.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in hospitality, communications, or business, paired with 2 to 5 years of event or catering management experience.
  • Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in hotel or conference Catering/Sales /Event Services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members.
  • Negotiating Skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must have flexible work hours that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to define event objectives, target audiences, and specific logistical or catering needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external vendors, including audiovisual technicians, caterers, and entertainers.
  • Draft and distribute detailed Event Orders (or BEOs) to ensure kitchen, banquet, and housekeeping teams are aligned on requirements.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, track all expenses, process invoices, and maintain profitability targets.
  • Supervise event setup, registration, and teardown, troubleshooting any issues that arise to minimize disruptions.
  • Analyze event success metrics, process attendee feedback, and track ROI to refine future strategies.
  • Drive customer loyalty in order to grow share of the account by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with company and property policies and procedures.
  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to all client requests for proposals and information.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales goals including predetermined revenue and sales activity.
  • Completes daily/weekly/monthly reports as directed by the DOS/GM.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.
