Mayo Clinic is seeking a Medicolegal Death Investigator to conduct death investigations on an on-call basis for a specified geographic area under the jurisdiction of the county Medical Examiner (ME). This role involves responding quickly to potentially traumatic and/or disturbing death scenes, examining decedents, confirming death, and securing the decedent and property on their person. The investigator will coordinate field data collection, preserve evidence, photograph scenes, acquire and compile pertinent medical history, perform data entry, and generate comprehensive reports. This position requires timely communication of case information to relevant parties, including SMRMEO staff, Office of Decedent Affairs, law enforcement, and decedent next of kin. The investigator will also facilitate the transportation of remains to designated ME facilities and perform additional tasks as requested by their supervisor. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
