About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is seeking Medication Technicians (Med Tech/CMA) to provide compassionate, direct care to residents. The role assists residents with medication administration and activities of daily living according to personalized medication and treatment plans. Medication Technicians work as part of a team to foster a supportive and nurturing environment and promote residents’ comfort, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state medication administration license, such as CNA, CMA, CMT, QMAP, or Certified Caregiver, or meet state requirements for medication administration in assisted living.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.

Experience with memory care.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in each resident’s care plan.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in resident status.
Manage medication inventory and storage conditions, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as needed.
Provide care and support with activities of daily living in a team setting as needed.
Support residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents in participating in life enrichment activity programs.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
