About The Position
Fair Oaks Estates is a locally owned and operated, secure gated community providing Assisted Living and Memory Care for older adults with dementia. The 63-bedroom community is located on four acres in Carmichael, California. It provides individualized care plans in coordination with families, doctors, and other support groups, while supporting residents’ independence. Fair Oaks Estates is seeking a Medication Technician to dispense medications to residents in its Assisted Living community and oversee care and medication needs in its Memory Care Wing. The role includes communicating resident changes and medication updates, following medication guidelines, documenting care, supporting residents during emergencies, assisting with medication-room tasks, and helping on the floor as a caregiver when needed. Previous Medication Technician experience is required. Compensation is $16.90–$18.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Previous Medication Technician experience is required.
- Previous experience as a Med Tech or Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Previous supervisor or management experience.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures.
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with the resident care director about resident changes, medication updates, and related matters.
- Ensure the department remains Title XXII compliant.
- Follow medication guidelines provided during medication training.
- Pull and pour medications and assist residents with taking them.
- Ensure resident care is provided according to assessments and document care.
- Assist with medication-room tasks.
- Assist with and manage resident emergencies.
- Help on the floor as a caregiver when necessary.
- Oversee care and medication needs in the Memory Care Wing.
