About The Position

Bellingham at West Chester is seeking a hospitality-focused Medication Technician to support residents in a senior living community. The role includes assisting residents with daily living activities, providing and documenting treatments and procedures, transporting residents, maintaining orderly rooms, and safely preparing and administering medications. The position is full-time, working the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift with rotating weekends. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour.

Requirements

Successfully complete the State-approved Medicine Aide Course and, when applicable, the continuing education course.
Be able to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and document care given.
Hold a current Medication Tech Certification, including required testing and observation hours.
Hold a current diabetic training certification.
Have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed.
Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
Respond promptly to signal lights.
Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
Safely prepare, administer, and chart oral, topical, and suppository medications.
Check and prepare each dose immediately before administration.
