About The Position

As a Medication Aide/Med Tech at Sunrise Senior Living, you help ensure residents receive medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity. You play a critical role in preventing medication errors, identifying health changes early, and protecting resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.

The role administers medications and treatments according to physician orders, observes residents during and after medication passes, and documents care accurately in real time. It also involves promptly reporting refusals or concerns, completing narcotic counts, and maintaining clean, organized medication carts and rooms while following infection-control and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Medication Administration certification.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Senior care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Document accurately and in real time in the MAR/TAR.
• Observe residents during and after medication passes.
• Monitor symptoms and administer medications as ordered for symptom relief.
• Promptly report medication refusals or concerns.
• Complete narcotic counts according to policy.
• Maintain clean, organized medication carts and rooms.
• Follow infection-control and safety standards.
• Help prevent medication errors, identify health changes early, and protect resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
