About The Position
Lakewest Assisted Living is hiring a Medication Tech to administer oral and topical medications to residents as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The work must comply with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and resident services.
Requirements
- Complete familiarity with the duties of a certified nurse aide.
- Highly developed observation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Active Texas CNA certification.
- High school education.
- One year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
- Accurately record medication and treatment administration.
- Observe for medication reactions and side effects and report them to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
- Administer PRN medications in accordance with applicable regulations and facility policy.
