About The Position
Centurion is seeking a PRN Medication Room Assistant to provide support at Vienna Correctional Center in Vienna, Illinois, serving the Illinois Department of Corrections. The position works under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and supports the organization and maintenance of medication room records and inventory, medication security, supply requests, receipt logging, and medication delivery as determined by site administration. The role is per diem, with shifts available as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current, active CPR/BLS certification.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Well-organized, effective communication, and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- One year of correctional healthcare or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of correctional healthcare principles and practices preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing and maintaining medication room records.
- Assist with maintaining medication room inventory and audit procedures.
- Maintain the security of medications and supplies under their control or supervision.
- Process supply requests promptly, cooperatively, and efficiently.
- Confirm ordered medications are received.
- Log outgoing medications.
- Assist with medication delivery as determined by site administration.
