About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with medication needs and other aspects of resident care. The role includes maintaining and ordering medications, assisting residents with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The assistant also transports residents within the community and responds promptly and safely to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. The position is PRN, with a minimum requirement of one shift per pay period.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, and wound care.
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
