Medication Assistant, Assisted Living - PRN
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role also involves supporting residents with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, and communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary. The position is PRN and requires working at least one shift per pay period. The Medication Assistant transports residents within the community and responds promptly, appropriately, and safely to emergency calls, resident or visitor requests, and environmental hazards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living.
- Take vital signs and provide first aid and wound care.
- Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
