About The Position

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Technician to deliver care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. Three part-time schedules are available: Position 1 works every Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Position 2 works Sunday and Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Week 1, and Wednesday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Week 2; Position 3 works Sunday and Monday from 11 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. in Week 1, and Monday and Saturday from 11 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. in Week 2.

Requirements

Hold a state Medication Technician License and demonstrate competency in drug administration in accordance with the state-approved protocol.
Successfully complete a quarterly medication technician competency review supervised by an RN or RCD.
Have CPR certification or be able to obtain it within six months of hire.
Complete a state-approved drug-administration training course and receive a certificate of satisfactory completion.
Have current nursing assistant certification or have successfully completed a certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program.

Nice To Haves

High school education preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicate questions, concerns, or discrepancies related to medication administration to the Resident Care Director (RCD).
Communicate significant changes in a resident’s mental or physical status to the RCD.
Document supervision of self-administration in the MAR.
Document and notify the RCD about administration of PRN medications.
Document PRN medications and their effects.
Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
