About The Position

Momentum Physical Therapy is seeking a Medical Verifications & Authorizations Receptionist to join their fast-growing team. This role is responsible for verifying insurance benefits and obtaining pre-certification and authorizations for all patients. The position involves communicating patient benefit information and estimated costs to clinics, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, and providing assistance to other receptionist positions as needed. The ideal candidate will maintain good rapport with the public, personnel, and medical staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
  • Computer entry skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training required.
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary, clinical team.
  • Ability to communicate well with public and other personnel in a tactful and courteous manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying insurance benefits and insurance pre-certification and authorizations for all patients.
  • Communicating to each clinic about every patient’s benefits and anticipated, estimated costs for coming to therapy.
  • Data entry of patient benefit and cost information correctly, completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Lending assistance to other receptionist positions within the organization as needed.
  • Maintaining good rapport with the public, personnel, and medical staff.
