Medical Unit Registered Nurse
About The Position
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and maintains standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The nurse is accountable for care delivered to assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current (preferred).
- Previous acute care hospital experience (preferred).
- Ventilator management experience (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Remain directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patients’ conditions or responses to treatment.
