About The Position

As a Medical Transcript in Pathology, you will help ensure the accuracy and efficiency of anatomic pathology case accessions. You will support pathologists, laboratory staff, and healthcare providers by triaging cases, entering clinical histories, and maintaining information systems. This work contributes to patient care by providing essential diagnostic data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in accurate and rapid data entry, with good spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to transcribe Pathology reports with a high degree of accuracy using laboratory information systems.
• Competency to learn and use information systems and dictating equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomic terms.

Responsibilities

• Accession anatomic pathology cases by accurately typing clinical histories into information systems.
• Accession outside slide and block consultations.
• Print cassettes and triage a variety of cases and materials.
• Transcribe Pathology reports accurately using laboratory information systems.
• Code diagnoses into laboratory and patient information systems.
• Proofread data entries for accuracy and completeness, following up with customers for missing information as needed.
• Create Atlas/Epic Orders.
