About The Position

The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory services in multiple areas including Chemistry, Urinalysis, Blood Bank, Hematology, and Coagulation. This role involves operating automated instrumentation, performing manual tests, conducting quality control, maintaining instruments, and ensuring patient safety and data confidentiality. The position requires a nationally certified Medical Technologist with significant experience in these laboratory disciplines.

Requirements

Nationally certified Medical Technologist
Three (3) years of recent experience in chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology.
Experience with automated instrumentation (Abbott Architect ci8200, Abbott Alinity, Tosoh G8, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, Iris, Sysmex XN, ACL Top, Alcor iSed).
Experience with manual chemistry, hematology, and coagulation tests.
Experience with tube and gel technology in blood banking.
Ability to perform routine daily and weekly quality control and instrument maintenance.
Ability to positively identify patients and samples.
Ability to safeguard electronic and paper patient information.
Ability to independently test, evaluate, document, and report patient testing and QC.
Ability to identify, document, and resolve issues related to sample collection, processing, testing, or reporting.
Ability to provide patient-centered care in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

Perform routine chemistry testing on automated instrumentation (Abbott Architect ci8200, Abbott Alinity, Tosoh G8, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual chemistry tests).
Conduct routine daily and weekly quality control and instrument maintenance for chemistry tests.
Perform routine chemistry and urinalysis testing on automated instrumentation (Iris, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual chemistry tests).
Conduct routine daily and weekly quality control and instrument maintenance for urinalysis tests.
Perform routine blood bank duties including cross matching, antibody screening and identification, selected cell panels, processing blood and blood products, and routine daily and weekly quality control procedures using tube and gel technology.
Perform routine hematology and coagulation testing on automated instrumentation (Sysmex XN, ACL Top, Alcor iSed, manual hematology and coagulation tests).
Conduct routine daily and weekly quality control and instrument maintenance for hematology and coagulation tests.
Positively identify patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
Safeguard electronic and paper patient information.
Independently test, evaluate, document, and report patient testing and Quality Control (QC).
Identify, document, and resolve any collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.
Assure patient-centered care and provide service in a professional manner.
