About The Position
The Medical Technologist provides accurate, precise, and timely patient test results to support the diagnosis and management of human illness. The role uses automated, computerized, and manual methods and is responsible for quality control, instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Work involves handling blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids; specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases, including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens. As part of a High Reliability Organization, the role requires focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or another related field.
- Registration by ASCP or AMT certification.
- Superior customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for diagnosis and management of illness.
- Use automated, computerized, and manual testing methods.
- Perform quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Handle blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body-fluid specimens, which may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens.
- Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
