About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join their team at the Swedish Cherry Hill Hospital in Seattle, WA. The role involves determining specimen acceptability, performing technical procedures, operating and troubleshooting instrumentation, preparing and testing reagents, reporting test results, performing maintenance and quality control, managing supplies, assisting with specimen processing, and maintaining a safe work environment. The position requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask, work independently and in a team, pass a color blindness test, and be flexible with overtime. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
