About The Position
The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution. The role calls for a service-committed, detail-oriented individual able to perform complex data analysis, exercise sound independent judgment, and demonstrate critical thinking skills. The position is on call and includes variable shifts across days, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), AMT, or MT (AAB).
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Medical Technology.
- Specialist certification in the relevant discipline, such as SH (ASCP) in Hematology, SM (ASCP) in Microbiology, SBB (ASCP) in Blood Banking, or SC (ASCP) in Chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Receive specimens and establish and maintain positive identification of specimens.
- Determine specimen suitability.
- Acquire and prepare reagents as needed.
- Perform instrument maintenance and calibration.
- Perform patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, and results reporting.
- Resolve technical problems.
