Medical Technologist (MT) Evening Shift
About The Position
Cottage Hospital is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist (MT) to join our laboratory team on a Monday–Thursday night shift ( 2p-12:30 am, 75 hours biweekly) . This role is essential to delivering accurate, timely lab results that directly support patient care and clinical decision-making. Position Summary The Medical Technologist performs moderate- to high-complexity testing across multiple laboratory disciplines, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. This role requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical staff. Responsibilities
- Perform and analyze laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids
- Ensure accuracy of results and troubleshoot discrepancies as needed
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
- Follow all quality control and regulatory standards
- Properly collect, label, and handle specimens
- Communicate critical results to providers and nursing staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts
