About The Position

The Medical Technologist MLT - PRN prepares, performs, and records testing procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned within any or all sections of the Clinical Laboratory.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree of applied science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as MLT (AMT), MLS (ASCP), CLT (NCA) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the coordinator.
• Participate in Laboratory Quality program.
• Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
• Perform tasks at an acceptable pace to ensure the prompt reporting of accurate patient results.
• Communicates the status of pending work to the on-coming shift.
