This role is responsible for providing quality and rapid lab results by utilizing knowledge of laboratory analyses, proper procedures, work equipment, and safety procedures. The position involves following laboratory protocols for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record maintenance, as well as adhering to quality control policies and documenting all related activities. The Medical Technologist/Technician will also order supplies, assist healthcare professionals with patient care, handle requests efficiently, and troubleshoot any issues that may affect test performance or results. A thorough understanding of medical terminology, new policies, and procedures is essential, along with the ability to sterilize instruments, stock areas, and maintain cleanliness. The role requires attending mandatory training, staff meetings, and being flexible to work at any center as needed. Availability to assist during breaks and mealtimes is also expected. Proficiency in using the medical record system, working with colleagues and externs, and operating medical and office equipment is necessary. The position may require indeterminate amounts of time for various duties, all of which must be completed within the assigned shift. Participation in maintenance assignments and other directed duties are also part of the role.
