About The Position

SRMC has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates! This position is for a Full Time Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Lab Tech (MLT) in the Laboratory department, working a 12-hour midnight shift. A Medical Technologist performs a variety of complex procedures on patient samples in a timely manner, while maintaining both accuracy and precision. The information obtained from these procedures will be used to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in a clinical setting. This position may require other related duties and activities as assigned by the Laboratory Director.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology.
  • Candidates will also be considered who have been trained and worked in a clinical laboratory setting, while serving in the United States military as a medical laboratory specialist.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a MT or MLS by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Certification Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or similar organizations is recommended but not required. If certified, proof of recertification should include member ID and expiration date.

  • Performs a variety of complex procedures on patient samples in a timely manner, while maintaining both accuracy and precision.

  • Performs other related duties and activities as assigned by the Laboratory Director.
