About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MedSurg RN) to provide patient-centered care in the Medical Surgical unit of a small, rural Critical Access Hospital in Kansas. The position includes an average MedSurg patient ratio of 1:3 and preparation to learn basic postpartum care, where the patient ratio is 1:1. The nurse will use CPSI/Perigen charting systems and may occasionally take on Charge responsibilities as needed. The shift runs from 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas or a Multistate license.
- BLS, ACLS, Fetal Heart Certification, and NRP certifications through AHA are required.
- Certifications not currently held are acceptable if the candidate is willing to obtain them before the start date.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting is preferred.
- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.
- Flu vaccine is strongly preferred; exemptions are accepted but may require wearing a mask during flu season.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit.
- Maintain an average patient ratio of 1:3 in MedSurg.
- Be prepared to learn basic postpartum care; the patient ratio will be 1:1.
- Use CPSI/Perigen charting systems to document patient care.
- Occasionally assume Charge responsibilities as needed.
