About The Position

Support veterans by keeping healthcare operations running smoothly within a structured clinical environment where your organization, customer service, and attention to detail help support timely access to healthcare services. At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide. You'll help veterans access care by coordinating appointments, managing medical records, and supporting front-line administrative operations within a structured, veteran-focused healthcare environment. Working alongside interdisciplinary clinical and administrative teams, you'll serve as an important resource for veterans and clinical staff while helping keep scheduling, documentation, patient communication, and administrative workflows accurate and timely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least six months of clerical, office, customer service, or administrative experience, or one year of education above high school.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to use electronic medical records, patient scheduling systems, databases, office equipment, and required reporting applications; basic knowledge of computerized patient-record functionality.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required; ability to obtain and maintain the required VA Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and verify provider orders and coordinate appointments, consults, recalls, cancellations, rescheduling, no-show documentation, and related scheduling activities.
  • Maintain electronic patient records by entering, updating, retrieving, scanning, and managing healthcare information within required medical-record and scheduling systems; upload outside records when assigned to Health Information Management.
  • Provide front-line assistance to veterans by answering incoming and outgoing calls, greeting patients, responding to administrative questions, and connecting them with the appropriate staff or resources.
  • Support Release of Information, insurance-document capture, encounter documentation, scheduling alerts, and other assigned patient-administration workflows.
  • Assist veterans with My HealtheVet enrollment, authentication, secure messaging, and communication between patients and providers.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and applicable healthcare information-security requirements.
  • Adapt to assigned administrative functions that may include Community Care, Health Information Management, Eligibility and Enrollment, transportation services, travel reimbursement, call-center support, or other patient-facing operations.
