About The Position

This job executes department policies and procedures, coordinates the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff, coordinates administrative and medical staff meetings, serves as timekeeper, carries out confidential activities, and assists in maintaining effective communication with staff, management, physician members and executive leadership team. Coordinates physician quality information and managed care audits and manages documentation and maintenance of medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and policies and procedures. Records and follows through on medical staff decisions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years related experience OR 2 years experience with bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of medical staff protocols and principles, including the Medical Staff Standards of The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or Credential Management System (CMS) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), and healthcare terminology.
  • Ability to and experience in creating agendas, taking meeting minutes and transcribing accurate minutes.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making and delegation skills.
  • Organizing and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work with and experience working with and maintaining confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of credentialing and/or medical staff office experience.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist and/or Certified Professional Medical Services Management certification.

  • Promotes teamwork and supports company service principles.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
