About The Position

Under the general direction of the Manager, Medical Staff Credentialing, this role coordinates the credentialing and re-credentialing of Medical, Dental, Podiatric Staff/Moonlighters/Advanced Practice Professionals and coordinates specific projects. The position involves preparing and completing credentialing folders, querying national and state data banks to ensure compliance with Hospital, Medical Staff, State, and Regulatory guidelines. It also includes assisting other medical staff coordinators, preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-ups for Medical Staff and APP meetings, and providing general clerical support to the Credentialing Office.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in a healthcare organization or experience with a Medical Staff Office.
  • Prior experience with medical staff credentialing and credentialing software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to understand data base management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • CPCS required within 1 year of meeting eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the credentialing and re-appointment of Medical, Dental, and Podiatric staff/Moonlighters/Advanced Practice Professionals.
  • Prepares and completes credentialing folders with queries of appropriate national and state data banks to ensure individuals remain in compliance with Hospital, Medical Staff, State and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists other medical staff coordinators in working with the medical staff president.
  • Responsible for agendas, minutes, and follow up of Medical Staff and APP meetings and COS mailings to ensure effective bi-directional communication.
  • Coordinates specific projects, as requested, to assist the department/organization attain goals.
  • Provides assistance to the COS office with general clerical duties and to support the COS team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
