About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating end-to-end credentialing and privileging for medical staff members and advanced practice providers. The role ensures that applications and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and processed on time. It also involves maintaining secure, accurate, and audit-ready provider records, validating data, resolving discrepancies, and supporting archival, reporting, and data-quality activities. The specialist will prepare credentialing materials for Medical Staff committees, document committee actions, and coordinate follow-up. Additionally, the role applies accreditation, regulatory, and organizational requirements to credentialing and privileging activities, supports survey readiness, and escalates compliance concerns. The Medical Staff Administrative Specialist will also serve as a resource and liaison to clinical departments, Medical Staff leaders, administrative partners, regional affiliates, and external organizations regarding credentialing standards, processes, and agreements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent Required
  • 3 years of experience in an office environment Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field Preferred
  • Experience in medical staff credentialing and accreditation Preferred
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Preferred
  • Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end credentialing and privileging for medical staff members and advanced practice providers, ensuring applications and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and processed on time.
  • Maintain secure, accurate, and audit-ready provider records; validate data, resolve discrepancies, and support archival, reporting, and data-quality activities.
  • Prepare credentialing materials for Medical Staff committees, document committee actions, and coordinate follow-up in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, policies, and established governance processes.
  • Apply accreditation, regulatory, and organizational requirements to credentialing and privileging activities; support survey readiness and escalate compliance concerns through established channels.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison to clinical departments, Medical Staff leaders, administrative partners, regional affiliates, and external organizations regarding credentialing standards, processes, and agreements.
