About The Position

One Medical is seeking a Medical Scribe to play a critical role in ensuring healthcare providers can build strong relationships with patients and deliver excellent care. The Medical Scribe will accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are performed. This role involves prepping patient charts before visits, assisting with follow-up items after visits, and identifying and correcting mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation to reduce errors. The position requires providing the highest quality customer service, adhering to practice protocols, managing workload effectively without compromising quality, and demonstrating strong attention to detail for accurate and timely transcription of notes. Excellent communication and multitasking skills are essential, along with a collaborative approach with providers to create a positive and efficient patient experience.

Requirements

At least 6 months of Medical Scribe experience
Strong written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and knowledge of medical terminology and shorthand
A high comfort level typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems
Strong attention to detail, consistent follow through, and ability to spot and correct errors
Experience working on collaborative, diverse and feedback-driven multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities

Prepare patient charts prior to visits and accompany the provider during the visit, transcribing visit notes and assisting with documentation related to vitals, medical history and care plans
Transcribe patient orders, including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
Support patient care by retrieving medical supplies, equipment, and materials during visits to ensure efficient workflow
Work through your paired provider’s task queue: Responding to patient messages, sending letters, completing action items / follow up items from outside facilities, etc.
Spot mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation and check to correct the information in order to reduce errors
Master our technology suite including but not limited to Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System 1Life, in order to interact with team members and patients and complete daily work
Use impeccable C-I-CARE (a framework containing the key elements of a great interaction and effective communication that we use with patients and each other) in all patient interactions and ensure a fluid and positive visit experience
