About The Position

The Medical Scribe is responsible for the accurate real-time documentation of patient encounters for their assigned on-site physician. The Medical Scribe is also responsible for tracking lab and imaging orders and their results. The Medical Scribe must demonstrate a proficiency in typing and utilizing EHR.

Requirements

• Ability to proficiently utilize computers and other relevant technology
• Ability to appropriately communicate and interact with patients and physicians
• Ability to excel in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Ability to work efficiently as a team member with other staff members
• Ability to type at a quick pace (60 WPM) without errors
• Strong knowledge of HIPPA regulations
• Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree with pre-health career track

Responsibilities

• Appropriately interact and communicate with medical staff, management and support staff to provide the best possible patient care
• Collaborate with physicians to deliver efficient patient care
• Compile and process orders for tests, procedures, and other treatments
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive (HIPAA) patient information
• Recording/Transcribing patient (encounters) documentation in EHR, in real-time
• Retrieve and prepare patient records for physicians prior to appointments and procedures
