About The Position

Shady Grove Orthopedics, an Aligned Orthopedic Partners Company, is a prominent multi-subspecialty orthopedic and spine private practice in Rockville, MD. They are developing an in-house Medical Scribe Program and are looking to hire multiple individuals interested in learning how to become a Medical Scribe. The practice has an outstanding patient satisfaction rating and continuously monitors it. They strive to hire people committed to doing their best and have built a team that others can be proud of, maintaining high employee morale. The Scribe will assist the orthopedic physician by accompanying them during daily office visits to record all aspects of the encounter based on the requisite level of coding, and by generating a master electronic document that entails the office visit's details. The scribe indirectly performs some patient care by documenting within the formal medical record. Candidates will participate in a formal training program with an experienced orthopedic scribe, learning basic medical terminology and the components of a basic orthopedic medical note. They will also receive in-depth training within the EHR system to perform efficiently and accurately.

Requirements

Proficient knowledge in musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge in general medical terminology, conditions, and interactions.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with EMR is a plus.

Responsibilities

Record details of the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam, comorbid conditions, medications, and allergies.
Record details of the physical exam including pertinent positives, negatives, and noted abnormalities.
Record sufficient information in the physician's assessment and plan based on the level of complexity.
