About The Position

The Medical/Dental Resident participates in an accredited residency training program designed to provide advanced clinical education and supervised patient care experience. The resident is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while developing clinical competencies, professional judgment, and specialized knowledge within the designated specialty program.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school or dental school required.
  • Enrollment and acceptance into an accredited residency training program required.
  • Valid license, limited permit, or authorization to practice as required by state law and program guidelines.
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on specialty.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of attending physicians and/or licensed dental professionals.
  • Perform patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning within the scope of training.
  • Participate in inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical, and on-call coverage as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical/dental records and documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Present patient cases during rounds, conferences, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Participate in educational lectures, conferences, seminars, research activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all hospital, regulatory, accreditation, and residency program policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, dentists, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and support personnel.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, cultural sensitivity, and patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and competency assessments as required by the residency program.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and risk management standards.
