About The Position

Employees in this classification provide support in an assigned research laboratory. Duties include performing standard laboratory experiments and procedures on specimens from patients and/or experimental animals, routine maintenance and clean-up of the laboratory and caring for experimental animals. Work is performed under usual laboratory conditions. Some hazards may be present due to use of radioactive, carcinogenic or other potentially harmful substances.

Requirements

• High school graduation.
• No previous work experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned laboratory procedures accurately and in accordance with approved protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supervisor instructions.
• Demonstrates proficiency in assigned techniques within established training timelines.
• Achieves and maintains a high level of accuracy with minimal procedural errors requiring rework.
• Consistently completes assigned experiments and tasks within established deadlines and promptly reports deviations, anomalies, or procedural concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Performing standard laboratory experiments and procedures on specimens from patients and/or experimental animals.
• Routine maintenance and clean-up of the laboratory.
• Caring for experimental animals.
