The Position Medical Referral Coordinator (Organ Donation) (also known internally as Organ Communications Coordinator – OCC) is responsible for maximizing organ donation opportunities through effective referral management, staff deployment, and coordination of donation activity across the Donation Service Area (DSA). This role partners closely with hospital teams to manage incoming referrals, assess donor potential through medical record review, coordinate staff response, and support timely, accurate communication throughout the donation process. The Medical Referral Coordinator also conducts retrospective reviews of eye and tissue referrals to identify missed donation opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance.
