About The Position

Medical Records Technicians retrieve and index medical records from provider facilities and specialty groups at scheduled dates and times. They travel to assigned locations, retrieve records for specified patients, maintain patient-file integrity, and securely upload documents into Centauri’s database according to physician/member combinations. Technicians ensure retrieved files meet Centauri’s quality standards and follow HIPAA guidelines throughout the process. The role uses company-provided equipment and includes reporting assignment updates to a supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a professional office and fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with components of standard medical records.
• Intermediate or expert knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and the Windows operating system.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned medical facilities and retrieve records using company-provided equipment.
• Process records and documentation according to Centauri Health Solutions standards.
• Securely upload retrieved documents into Centauri’s database according to physician/member combinations.
• Maintain the integrity of patient files and ensure retrieved files meet quality standards.
• Provide an end-of-day update and reports to a supervisor after completing an assignment.
• Comply with applicable legal requirements to maintain the stability and reputation of provider facilities.
• Keep equipment operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
• Return all Centauri Health Solutions equipment upon the contract term date.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards and regulations throughout the retrieval process.
