About The Position

The Medical Records Technician maintains the medical records filing system for the Long Term Care Services division in accordance with established procedures and the standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies. This position maintains medical records for the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community. We are committed to providing preventative and restorative care to all residents and clients here at Rockingham County. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two (2) years of medical records experience
  • Must be able to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position and department.
  • Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire.
  • Criminal records check required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the medical records filing system for the Long Term Care Services division.
  • Maintains medical records for the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community.
  • Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, confidential, and properly filed.
  • Safeguards client and resident records.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Creates electronic charts upon admission.
  • Follows up to ensure records are complete and in proper order.
  • Creates digital images of documents for storage in the electronic medical record system.
