About The Position

Radiology Ltd., a 500-employee medical imaging organization seeks a part time Medical Records Specialist. This position is located at a site on the East Side of Tucson. Hours are 8 am - 2 pm Monday-Friday The Medical Records Specialist provides excellent customer service to patients, providers and internal staff.

Customer Service oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Windows based PC applications including sending and receiving email
High School or GED required at time of hiring.
Must be able to pass General Skills Assessment test.

Nice To Haves

One to two years medical office experience or related education preferred.
Prior medical records experience helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Answers telephone calls in a polite and professional manner
Faxes reports to provider offices throughout the day
Utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems
Handles and routes requests for medical records, CDs, film or paper images and/or reports for delivery to referring physicians, clients and patients
Documents the release of PHI in all appropriate systems
Analyzes and reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified standards
Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve electronic health information
Initiates requests for prior images and reports from outside imaging facilities
