We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team. This position will work onsite at the corporate office in Brooklyn Park. The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate electronic medical records, processing incoming health information, and supporting patients and clinical staff through medical records-related services. This role requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to protecting patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of medical office, medical records, or healthcare administration experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update electronic medical records using eClinicalWorks (eCW)
  • Ensure patient records are complete, accurate, and current
  • Answer and manage calls for the Medical Records phone queue
  • Process and route incoming electronic documents, faxes, and mail
  • Track, process, and route patient medical forms and documentation requests
  • Abstract and enter patient information from transferred medical records
  • Assist with health information management activities and record maintenance
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and OSHA safety standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
