About The Position

Baptist Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and safeguarding patient health records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The specialist will accurately process, scan, and file patient documentation, ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. They will also manage requests for records and assist staff with record retrieval.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in medical records, health information management, or a related healthcare administrative role
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • certification in Health Information Management preferred

Responsibilities
