Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize large volumes of information accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy laws and regulations.
  • Must be willing to get a chauffers license.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or certification in health information management, medical records, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, update, and maintain patient medical records, ensuring all documents are accurate and stored in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Scan, file, and retrieve patient records as needed by healthcare providers, ensuring records are readily accessible and properly labeled.
  • Enter and update patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Respond to requests for medical records from authorized individuals, ensuring timely processing while adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Review medical records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations before filing and storing.
  • Create and maintain an organized filing system for both physical and electronic medical records, ensuring records are easily accessible to staff.
  • Generate reports and summaries from patient records for use by healthcare providers, insurance companies, or other authorized entities.
  • Order supplies as needed
