About The Position

Premier Radiology, a Radiology Partners practice, is hiring a Medical Records Clerk for its Woman's Imaging location in Nashville, Tennessee. The role supports outpatient imaging by organizing, retrieving, distributing, and updating patient medical records and reports. The clerk also handles approved release of patient information, processes reports and images, creates CDs or printed images as requested, and imports outside digital images into PACS when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Computer experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to file correctly using an alphabetic or numeric system.
• Knowledge of medical records tasks, clinic procedures, medical terminology, and paperwork processing requirements.
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to interact effectively with physicians, facility staff, patients, and families when providing instructions, responding to questions, or exchanging patient-related information.

• Experience with medical files.

Responsibilities

• File patient records and reports in chronological order.
• Retrieve and distribute patient medical records for staff review.
• Post test reports and other correspondence to medical records, and document lab results when appropriate.
• Print patient information and forward it to the requesting party or referring physician after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.
• Check reports and/or print images in and out; burn CDs and/or print images to paper as requested.
• Import digital outside images into PACS when necessary.
