About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant.
  • Experience with specific EHR software such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
  • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the United States.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and general information.
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process billing information, collect co-pays, and assist with insurance claims and authorizations.
  • Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to facilitate efficient workflow.
  • Manage office supplies and ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and preparing patient charts for appointments.
