About The Position

Medical Associates is seeking a friendly, professional, and energetic Full Time Medical Receptionist to work 30+ hours per week at their Internal Medicine practice. This role requires prior authorization experience and involves performing various medical office reception duties to provide outstanding service to patients. The receptionist will greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, manage patient flow, maintain records, and collect payments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to two years of prior medical customer service and administrative experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, practice management, EMR, copiers, personal computers, printers, facsimiles, telephone.
  • Prior Authorization experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in person and on the telephone in a professional, timely and friendly manner.
  • Work on Prior Authorizations.
  • Answer telephone: Screen, perform triage, and route calls. Take accurate messages, answer questions regarding hours of operation, location of practice, services provided, fees, verification of insurance benefits, financial questions, etc.
  • Organize daily patient flow by providing accurate appointment data, pulling files of scheduled patients, coordinating incoming patient flow via electronic medical records system, notifying back office of arrivals.
  • Maintain medical records, HIPAA documentation including letters, photographs, office notes, referrals as assigned.
  • Enter patient data into the EMR database and appointments into scheduling system.
  • Maintain tracking list of no shows, cancellations, late arrivals and missed appointments.
  • Inform patients of the office's payment policy and procedures, collect patient payments in accordance with the time-of-service payment policy.
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, medical and back office staff and physicians to provide professional and high standards patient service/care.
  • Adhere to scheduled work and break hours to ensure adequate front desk coverage.
  • Perform other related duties as needed and assigned.
