About The Position

Golden State Dermatology is a rapidly expanding physician-led and owned dermatology group with over 37 locations across California. We are a leading medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology group specializing in a wide range of skin, hair, and nail conditions, including Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic skincare, anti-aging treatments, body contouring, and plastic surgery. The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in the front desk operations and patient service. Responsibilities include welcoming patients, managing check-in/check-out, verifying insurance, handling phone inquiries, maintaining patient records, and managing appointment schedules. This involves auditing for future appointments, confirming attendance, collecting necessary pre-appointment information, and contacting patients to offer earlier slots when openings occur. The role also includes providing product education and selling skincare products. It requires significant multitasking and task management to ensure prompt completion of all duties. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Practice Manager. The primary goal is to provide exceptional patient service, ensuring patients feel welcome, comfortable, and well-cared for. Attention to detail, a compassionate approach, and dedication to patient satisfaction are key to the clinic's success.

Requirements

  • Travel required between San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Livermore clinics

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service skills or a patient-centered mindset
  • Previous Dermatology, healthcare, or aesthetics experience
  • Knowledgeable with insurance carriers (i.e., Medicare, commercial, HMO)
  • Experience with EClinicalWorks, EMA, or other EMR software

Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcoming patients
  • Assisting with check-in and check-out procedures
  • Verifying patients' insurance coverage and eligibility
  • Handling phone inquiries
  • Maintaining patient records
  • Managing the appointment schedule, including auditing for future appointments, confirming attendance, and collecting necessary information before the appointment
  • Contacting patients on waiting lists or with future appointments to offer earlier slots to fill schedule openings
  • Providing product education to patients and staff
  • Selling skincare products
  • Multitasking and task management to ensure all responsibilities are completed promptly
  • Performing additional job duties as assigned by the Practice Manager
  • Providing exceptional service to patients, making them feel welcome, comfortable, and well-cared for
