About The Position

Aston Carter is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a Contract to Hire position in Honolulu, HI. The role involves patient check-in/check-out, scheduling appointments, managing high-volume phone calls, handling billing and insurance verification, maintaining Electronic Health Records (EHR), and ensuring office organization. The position offers weekly pay and a range of benefits for eligible employees.

Requirements

  • Experience with patient check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Proficiency in scheduling appointments.
  • Ability to handle high-volume phone calls.
  • Experience with billing and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Adherence to HIPAA privacy laws.
  • Ability to maintain office inventory and order supplies.
  • Must be able to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, working the rest 5 days a week 8 hour shifts.
  • Must be able to work 5am-2pm shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients, verify their identification and insurance information, and prepare required forms for their visits.
  • Coordinate appointments in person or by phone, process walk-ins, and manage rescheduling or cancellations.
  • Answer high-volume phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay messages between patients and clinical staff.
  • Verify coverage eligibility before appointments, explain billing policies, and collect co-payments and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain Electronic Health Records (EHR), update patient demographics, and scan documents while strictly adhering to HIPAA privacy laws.
  • Monitor reception inventory, order supplies, and ensure the waiting area remains tidy and calm.
