Requirements

  • Current MD, DO, NP, or PA credentials
  • Eligible for credentialing in the State of Hawaiʻi

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty training or experience in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and/or Women’s Health
  • Experience working in a community health center or with underserved, low‑income, and culturally diverse populations
  • Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work compassionately and non‑judgmentally with diverse populations
  • Working knowledge of EHR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Cultural sensitivity and willingness to serve a multilingual patient population

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a full scope of primary care services, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, prescribing, and patient education
  • Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and preventive health care across the lifespan
  • Provide age‑ and life‑cycle appropriate care
  • Refer patients to specialists when care is beyond scope
  • Participate actively in an interdisciplinary, patient‑centered care team
  • Provide timely phone advice and follow‑up per clinic protocols
  • Supervise medical students, residents, or other health professional learners as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR system (within 48 hours, preferably same day)
  • Participate in quality improvement, peer review, case reviews, and performance initiatives
  • Support health education programs and preventive care protocols
  • Advocate for patient needs and coordinate care across services
  • Attend provider, leadership, and all‑staff meetings as required
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Stay current with clinical guidelines, continuing education, and medical literature
  • Maintain all licensure, board certification, and required training
  • Comply with grant‑related program requirements (e.g., Family Planning, BCCCP)
  • Follow clinic safety, infection control, emergency, and disaster preparedness protocols
