Requirements
- Preauthorization experience required
- Intermediate - advanced computer proficiency
- Minimum 2 years medical preauthorization experience required
- ICD-9/10 and CPT coding
- Expert proficiency in medical terminology
- Critical thinking skills
- High school graduate or GED
- Intermediate-advanced in Microsoft Office Suite
Nice To Haves
- Workers compensation experience preferred
- Prefer some college
Responsibilities
- Reviewing medical records
- Ensuring compliance with ICD-10 and CPT codes for workers compensation claims
- Managing preauthorization requests
- Working closely with healthcare providers and insurers to facilitate smooth communication
- Utilizing computer proficiency to navigate systems efficiently and keep track of status updates
- Collaborating with team members to notice needs and contribute to problem-solving initiatives
- Review and manage over 60 faxes daily, ensuring they meet accuracy and compliance standards
- Collecting essential clinical data
- Inputting demographics
- Accurately documenting medical histories and treatment details
- Ensuring that all necessary information is forwarded for nurse review efficiently
