Requirements

Preauthorization experience required
Intermediate - advanced computer proficiency
Minimum 2 years medical preauthorization experience required
Workers compensation experience preferred
ICD-9/10 and CPT coding
Expert proficiency in medical terminology
Critical thinking skills
High school graduate or GED
Strong computer proficiency to navigate various software tools required for tasks such as data entry and document management
Ability to meticulously compile and maintain medical records
Solid understanding of medical terminology
Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes
Strong attention to detail
Communication skills

Responsibilities

Reviewing medical records
Ensuring compliance with ICD-10 and CPT codes for workers compensation claims
Managing preauthorization requests
Working closely with healthcare providers and insurers to facilitate smooth communication
Navigating systems efficiently
Keeping track of status updates
Collaborating with team members
Noticing needs and contributing to problem-solving initiatives
Review and manage over 60 faxes daily
Collecting essential clinical data
Inputting demographics
Accurately documenting medical histories and treatment details
Ensuring all necessary information is forwarded for nurse review efficiently
