Requirements

  • Preauthorization experience required
  • Intermediate - advanced computer proficiency
  • Minimum 2 years medical preauthorization experience required
  • Workers compensation experience preferred
  • ICD-9/10 and CPT coding
  • Expert proficiency in medical terminology
  • Critical thinking skills
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Strong computer proficiency to navigate various software tools required for tasks such as data entry and document management
  • Ability to meticulously compile and maintain medical records
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Workers compensation experience preferred
  • Some college

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing medical records
  • Ensuring compliance with ICD-10 and CPT codes for workers compensation claims
  • Managing preauthorization requests
  • Working closely with healthcare providers and insurers to facilitate smooth communication
  • Navigating systems efficiently
  • Keeping track of status updates
  • Collaborating with team members
  • Noticing needs and contributing to problem-solving initiatives
  • Review and manage over 60 faxes daily
  • Collecting essential clinical data
  • Inputting demographics
  • Accurately documenting medical histories and treatment details
  • Ensuring all necessary information is forwarded for nurse review efficiently
