The Medical Practice Associate (MPA) role is a comprehensive administrative position that adapts its workflows based on the needs of the practice. This role involves greeting patients, ensuring they are seen by the provider, answering phones, directing inquiries, and coordinating provider schedules for appointments, referrals, and follow-ups. The MPA is responsible for verifying insurance, collecting payments, and accurately recording them. Additionally, this role may obtain prior authorizations for medications, durable medical equipment, procedures, and diagnostic tests for various payers, including workers' compensation and commercial. The MPA may also coordinate surgical scheduling. The MPA will collaborate with their supervisor and peers to ensure patient and customer satisfaction, aiming to deliver a best-in-class experience across all sites.
