About The Position

The Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Medical Physicist to fill an academic faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. The individual sought will participate in the teaching of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and residents. The medical physicist is expected to participate in and provide needed clinical support to the research activities in the Department. Research projects in the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering, funded by various federal and state agencies including eleven active NIH R01 grants, range from small-animal irradiation, PET instrumentation, medical imaging, image-guided therapy, heavy ion therapy, and automatic treatment planning to artificial intelligence. An example research effort in our division is the MAIA Lab (www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/maia). This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.

Requirements

Ph.D. degree in Medical Physics or a related field
Postdoctoral training
A minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of medical physics
ABR certified
Excellent track record of research and successful funding history in the field of medical physics
